Peanut brittle is a simple to make candy, made with only a few ingredients. It has been made for hundreds of years all over the world. It is essentially peanuts mixed into caramelized sugar, then spread into a thin sheet, cooled and broken into pieces. The caramel itself is probably the most difficult part to achieve, as it must be heated to the hard crack stage, but once it is made successfully, peanut brittle becomes a fast treat to make and eat, or give away as a gift.
